MevaSearch Outage — Explanation from Ixavence

MevaSearch Outage — Explanation from Ixavence

Today, the Polish search engine MevaSearch experienced a prolonged outage that lasted over 2 hours. We want to fully explain what happened so our users have a clear understanding of the situation and know what actions the Ixavence team is taking to ensure the stability and security of the service.

The outage was caused by the transfer of MevaSearch data from a temporary server to the main server of our hosting provider. The temporary server served as a backup and is not our primary production environment. The decision to transfer the data was made to improve performance and return to our standard infrastructure following previous issues we experienced in recent weeks.

Unfortunately, during this transfer, a file conflict occurred, which caused corruption of the data responsible for displaying the site and other key components of MevaSearch. As a result, the entire platform stopped functioning, resulting in an outage of the search engine lasting over 2 hours.

Our team immediately began corrective actions. The priority was to restore full functionality of the service while maintaining data integrity and user security. This process required detailed verification of files, reconstruction of damaged components, and testing to ensure all MevaSearch mechanisms were working correctly.

We understand that this outage may have been frustrating and affected the user experience. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience and trust.

As part of preventive measures, we are implementing additional security procedures and redundancy mechanisms aimed at minimizing the risk of similar issues in the future. Additionally, we are strengthening monitoring of data transfer operations to ensure that every such process is fully controlled and safe.

We also want to emphasize that the Ixavence team works continuously on the stability and development of MevaSearch to make our tool reliable and secure for all users.

Thank you for your trust, and we promise to learn from every outage so that MevaSearch performs even better.
